Publications can be organised into categories, which may help to specify the type of publication or the title of a publication. The current publication categories are:
- Briefings
- Consultation responses
- Leaflets
- Strategic plan
- Thin Ice
Each of these publication categories has its own “archive” (a page displaying past publications in that category). The Publication category description is displayed at the top of this page, with the list of publications below.
To add or edit Publication categories look under the Publications sub-menu of the main admin menu
And click Publication categories
From the publication categories screen you can add a new publication category or edit the title or description of one by clicking on its title.
Adding a Thin Ice year archive page
The Thin Ice publications (the newsletter) pages have an additional sidebar menu to allow users to view them grouped by year.
To add a new year, from any admin page visit Navigation menu, then open the dropdown menu labelled Select a menu to edit, select Thin Ice years menu, and click Select.
Next open the box on the left labelled Custom Links
In the box labelled URL type the following, replacing “YYYY” with the year:
“/publication-category/thin-ice?publication-year=YYYY”
Type the year into the box labelled Link Text.
Click Add to Menu.
The new item will be added to the bottom of the menu on the right, so you may need to drag and drop it into place.
When you have finished click Save Menu.
